The museum of Yayoi Kusama

Today let me introduce the artist and the museum of Yayoi Kusama.

Known all around the world Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese international artist of who you probably already seen an artwork
She is known for her famous colored dotted pumpkins, and for her universe full of colors and forms.
She started to paint using polka dots and nets as motifs at around age ten ,and created fantastic paintings in watercolors, pastels and oils.

If you are an art amateur or like the universe of yayoi kusama let me introduce you the yayoi kusama museum in Tokyo one station away from the takadanobaba campus.

From takadanobaba campus you have to take the tozai line and to get out at next station in waseda. The museum is about 15 minutes walk away from the station. It’s really important to get reservations in advance but the museum website. Sometimes you have to reserve two months earlier. The museum cost 1100 yens.
Run as the principal project of the Yayoi Kusama Foundation, itself established in January of this year. The museum presents major works from Kusama’s earlier years up until the present day. Through various activities and events – including lectures, publications and displays of ephemera and documentation, its aim is to honor Yayoi Kusama’s myriad achievements.
The actual exhibition called THE VISION OF FANTASY THAT WE HAVE NEVER SEEN IS THIS SPLENDOR.
You can see this exhibition until the end of March of this year.

Yayoi Kusama began her creative career as an artist by depicting the hallucinations she experienced in her childhood, as a means to overcome her fears. Since then, Kusama has continued to produce works using these visions of her hallucinations and inner world.
On this occasion, Yayoi Kusama Museum presents recent and new works by Yayoi Kusama created over the past ten years with the theme of her diverse visions, consisting only of works that are shown for the first time in Japan or anywhere in the world.

Please find here some photos of the museum.
