Harajuku Campus
Japanese Teacher

Could you tell me why you became a Japanese teacher?
One of the reasons for this was the experience of living in a dormitory for foreign students when I was a student. The days I spent with international students from various countries were very precious and wonderful. I also have good memories of the many fights we had. Why don't you also try spending some quality time with Japanese people and people from other countries?
Please tell us about the joy and pleasure of teaching Japanese?
What makes me happiest and most enjoyable is when the students do their best to use the Japanese they have learned and talk about what they want to talk about. When you share your experiences and thoughts in Japanese, we get to know you better and can further support you in achieving your goals.
What kind of classes do you usually try to teach?
I want my students to be able to use Japanese properly. For example: they can speak what they want to speak in Japanese, they can listen and understand what Japanese people say, they can read what they want to read, and they can write what they want to write... In my classes, I try to find ways to help students learn to use Japanese properly.
What is the appeal of ISI Harajuku School that other Japanese language schools do not have?
The Harajuku school has glass windows on the outside and inside of the classrooms, which creates a liberating and bright atmosphere that stimulates the students. There is a lounge in the middle of each classroom where students can freely interact with staff and teachers regardless of class or nationality. I think this is one of the charms of Harajuku School, where you can take your time to study and read, ask questions, talk and consult with anyone in Japanese.
What do you think is the most important thing for international students when learning Japanese?
To have fun. And to keep the feeling of enjoyment. If you get tired of studying Japanese because it's too difficult, or if you get bored with it, then you need to think, "I like studying Japanese! It's fun!". If you enjoy it, you will be motivated. If you are motivated, you will be able to devise ways to improve your Japanese. Let's have fun and get better in various ways!
Finally, do you have a message for international students or for those who are considering it?
We look forward to welcoming you to Harajuku School if you are interested in studying in Japan. Let's have a fun and fulfilling time. International students who are currently working hard in Japan, are you having fun? Are you doing your best? If you have any problems or worries, please feel free to ask for help. Let's think together, overcome difficulties, and make your dreams come true.
