Mexico Group Program (Implementing School: Takadanobaba Academic Pathway Campus)

Implementation period: July 6 (Mon) to July 24 (Fri), 2026 [3 weeks]
Participants: 67 high school students from Mexico (ages 15-19)

A total of 67 high school students from Mexico participated in this program. All participating students visited Japan for the first time and spent three weeks experiencing life and culture in Japan.

In Japanese language classes, they focused on learning expressions that could be used during their stay. The students seemed to feel joy as they actively used what they learned in class outside of school, increasing their daily communication.
During their stay, the program coincided with the Japanese seasonal event of Tanabata, so they learned about its origins and had the experience of writing wishes on tanzaku and decorating bamboo.
Additionally, during the yukata dressing experience, they enjoyed taking photos and interacting while becoming familiar with Japanese traditional culture.

Participation of teachers and interns
This program also included teachers in training aiming to become Japanese language teachers and university student interns from Japan. Thanks to the flexible ideas of the young participants and their supportive communication with the students, the classes and interaction activities became more vibrant.
At the farewell party on the last day, they deepened their interactions while enjoying traditional Japanese games such as karuta, menko, and fukuwarai. Additionally, the interns presented handmade friendship bracelets, name plates written in kanji, and popular stickers in Japan, creating memorable moments for the participants as they reluctantly said goodbye.
