In April 2025, we welcomed two overseas groups from Thailand and China and conducted a short-term Japanese language and cultural experience program. The participating students spent fulfilling time through experiential activities aimed at deepening their understanding of Japanese culture, centered around Japanese language classes.
Thai Organization Program (Implementing School: Takadanobaba School)
This program aims to deepen understanding and interest in Japanese society through Japanese language learning, practical communication skills improvement, and diverse cultural experiences, and this is the third implementation. The students have shown significant growth by actively engaging in learning and experiencing various cultures. Within the limited period of four weeks, they were able to improve their Japanese language skills as well as gain intercultural understanding and teamwork, making it a meaningful program. According to participant surveys, the satisfaction rate of the program is high at 90%, indicating the students' fulfilling learning and experiences.
Implementation period: March 31, 2025 (Monday) to April 25, 2025 (Friday) [4 weeks]
Participants: 22 students from Thailand (ages 13-18)
Voices of participating students (excerpt):
- The teacher was very kind and taught me in a detailed manner, so I was able to do my best. I have become better at speaking Japanese.
- In a clean and comfortable environment, the teachers were very professional.
- This was my first time studying Japanese, but the environment and support system at ISI were excellent, and I was truly impressed. The staff were always kind and patiently taught me whenever I had questions. The teachers' classes were easy to understand, and even as a beginner, I was able to learn in a fun way. I really feel fortunate to have studied at this school.
- This is a recommended school for those who want to learn a new language. I believe that, like me, you will surely have a wonderful experience.
Chinese International High School Japanese Language Experiential Learning Program (Implemented at: Nagano Campus)
This program involved 39 high school students from China (ages 15 to 17). It is aimed at those considering long-term study abroad in Japan, and through conversation-centered Japanese classes, the goal is to provide them with an experience of actual classroom environments and the use of the Japanese language. The students actively engaged in communication, experiencing the joy of interacting with Japanese and the significance of learning it, resulting in a very high overall satisfaction rate of 95.7%. Many students expressed positive feedback such as "I wanted to talk more" and "I gained confidence by using it in practice."
