An Osaka Campus Student Has Been Selected as a Scholarship Recipient by the Kyoritsu International Exchange Scholarship Foundation!

HSU MYAT NOE WAI, a student enrolled at the ISI Osaka Campus, has been selected as a scholarship recipient for the Kyōritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. Scholarship Fund.
The Kyōritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. Scholarship Fund primarily targets privately funded international students from Asian countries studying in Japan, aiming to support their academic and living expenses.
The scholarship is a non-repayable "grant type" and provides 60,000 yen per month.

HSU MYAT NOE WAI is from Myanmar and aims to continue studying Japanese at the ISI Japanese Language School for another year while aspiring to enter university.
We were able to hear HSU MYAT NOE WAI's strong desire to continue working towards their goal of university admission and to realize their dreams, so we would like to introduce them.

Q: Congratulations on being selected as a recipient of the Kyoritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. Scholarship Fund. How do you feel right now?

A: I am so happy, I can't even put it into words. Before receiving this scholarship, it was difficult to manage balancing my studies and part-time job.
I worked very hard with my teacher to become a scholarship recipient. I feel like my efforts have paid off.

Q: How did the scholarship application process go?

A: I prepared for an interview at school and wrote an essay. I was glad that my teacher helped me prepare the essay and other documents. For the essay, I wrote about my future dreams and what I want to do in the future.

Q: What are your future plans?

A: I hope to attend a Japanese university. I plan to study at ISI for another year while aiming to get into my desired university.
I want to reduce my part-time work because I need more time to prepare for university entrance exams, such as studying for the EJU.

Q: What kind of studies do you want to pursue once you go to university?

I want to become a software developer, so I want to study that.

Q: What prompted you to decide to study in Japan?

A: In Myanmar, I studied economics. However, I wasn't very interested in it, so I continued to search for my interests and became interested in IT. When I looked for the best place to study IT, I thought Japan was the best option, so I chose it.

Q: What is the biggest change you experienced through studying in Japan?

A: I was originally an introverted person. Coming to ISI and participating in various activities in class has improved my communication skills. I also think I've become better at housework and managing money.

Q: Please tell me about any classes or teachers at ISI that left a lasting impression on you.

A: Mr. Shijo has been my homeroom teacher ever since I started school. Whenever I have any problems with daily life or my studies, he helps me as much as he can.

Q: What are your dreams for the future?

A: If possible, I would like to attend Osaka University. And I want to do my best for Myanmar. I want to use the skills I learned in Japan to become a bridge between Japan and Myanmar.

Q: What advice would you give to younger students who are considering studying in Japan?

Studying abroad in Japan is a wonderful experience. It may be difficult and challenging at first, but don't give up. If you persevere and challenge yourself, you will grow, so please do your best.

It was impressive to see MYAT's smile as they happily talked about how becoming a scholarship student has allowed them to dedicate more time to studying than ever before. We look forward to their continued success in the future.
The entire ISI staff will continue to support them with all our efforts as they prepare for university. Let's work hard together!
