For Those Applying for a Student Visa

If you wish to obtain a Student Visa, you'll need to submit the required documents to the Immigration Services Agency through our school.

About Student Visas

A Student Visa is a visa granted to students at Japanese language schools, or at universities and specialized colleges in Japan. The corresponding residence status is "Student."
The period of stay granted under a Student Visa ranges from 6 months up to a maximum of 2 years from your date of entry into Japan, depending on your length of study.
You can renew your Student Visa within Japan, and your period of stay can be extended according to your length of enrollment.
The maximum length of enrollment at our school under a Student Visa is 2 years.
Applying for "Permission to Engage in Activities Other Than That Permitted under the Status of Residence" allows for part-time work of up to 28 hours a week. However, there are restrictions on the types of work you can do.
If you wish to obtain a Student Visa, you'll need to submit the required documents to the Immigration Services Agency through our school.
Immigration Services Agency screening takes time, and it typically takes about 6 months to obtain a Student Visa.
If you have any questions about the required documents or procedures, please contact our school as early as possible.

Application Process

Submit application documents / Document screening, interview, and payment of the application fee

Please pay the Application Fee via bank transfer, Flywire, or WeChat Pay. To begin the enrollment process, you'll first need to submit your application form and pay the Application Fee.

Receive admission results / Application for the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to the Immigration Services Bureau

Our school will apply on your behalf for your Certificate of Eligibility. If our school's review determines that you meet the enrollment requirements, we will issue a Notice of Acceptance. Once you've received your Notice of Acceptance, you'll be able to use our student portal site, Campusmate-J,* through which we'll send you various information and documents.

Issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) by the Immigration Services Bureau (The school receives the certificate on behalf of the student.)

After the COE is issued, the school will provide an invoice for tuition and other fees through Campusmate-J.

Payment of tuition and other enrollment fees

Take the Placement Test

Class placement will be determined based on the results of the placement test announced via Campusmate-J, so all students are required to take the test.

Our School Will Issue Your Certificate of Eligibility and Certificate of Admission

Once we confirm your tuition payment, we'll send you your Certificate of Eligibility, Certificate of Admission, and Application for "Permission to Engage in Activities Other Than That Permitted under the Status of Residence", and we'll also notify you of information leading up to enrollment and important notes about entering Japan, through Campusmate-J.

Apply for a visa at a Japanese embassy or consulate overseas

Visa issuance and flight booking

After booking your flight, please register your itinerary through the notification form provided via Campusmate-J, including a copy of your e-ticket showing your flight number and arrival time.

Enrollment / Start of Studies

Please report to school on your enrollment date. (If our school has arranged your accommodation, please make travel arrangements so that you can move in on your designated move-in date.)

Campusmate-J is the portal site ISI Japanese Language School provides to students to support their student life. Using an internet-connected computer or smartphone, you can check your own grades and view your schedule and class timetable. We'll also use this site to send you various information and documents.
