Notice on Activities Outside of Qualification (Part-Time Work) and Long-Term Vacation Periods

About part-time jobs for international students.

If foreign students are staying in Japan under the "student" visa status, they can work part-time under certain conditions by obtaining "permission for activities outside of their status of residence" from the Immigration Services Agency.
If they do not have this permission, they cannot work part-time. Also, students who have withdrawn from or graduated (completed) from our school cannot engage in activities outside of their status, so please be aware of this in advance.

The upper limit of hours one can work part-time.

  • Duration of classes: within 28 hours per week.
  • During the long-term vacation periods set by the school (such as spring, summer, and winter breaks): up to 8 hours per day.
  • You cannot work beyond the above-mentioned time.
  • Please check below for the specific dates of the long-term closure period.

Industries where part-time work is not possible.

Working in the following industries and occupations is prohibited by law.
Violations may result in the revocation of your residence status or deportation. Before starting a part-time job, be sure to check the type of work you will be doing.

  • Entertainment businesses (e.g., bars, cabarets, nightclubs, etc.)
  • Storefront and non-storefront types of adult entertainment-related businesses.
  • Specific entertainment and dining business operations (such as restaurants that involve hospitality activities during late-night hours)

About the Long-Term Holiday Period of the ISI Japanese Language School Group

During the long-term vacation period set by the school, part-time work is allowed for up to 8 hours per day.

  • Summer vacation: August 8, 2026 (Saturday) to August 16, 2026 (Sunday)
  • Autumn Break: September 19, 2026 (Saturday) to October 6, 2026 (Tuesday)
  • Winter break: December 19, 2026 (Saturday) to January 6, 2027 (Wednesday)

Nagano Campus

  • Spring Break: March 20, 2026 (Friday) to April 6, 2026 (Monday)
