How to Enroll

Enrollment Periods & Application Schedule

April Enrollment

Application deadline: end of October.

July Enrollment

Application deadline: end of February.

October Enrollment

Application deadline: end of May

January Enrollment

Application deadline: end of August.

Application Eligibility

Completion of 12 years or more of formal education
At least 150 hours of prior Japanese language study
Sufficient financial means to cover the cost of study for the duration of the program
A clear purpose and strong motivation to learn

*The above are general guidelines. Exceptions may be granted depending on individual circumstances, such as educational background or Japanese language ability.

Application to Enrollment Process

Document preparation and submission.

Application form, certificate of academic history, certificate of financial support, and other required documents

Document review and interview

Submitted documents are reviewed and an interview is conducted

Application for Certificate of Eligibility (COE)

ISI submits the application to the Immigration Services Agency on your behalf

Visa Application / Level Check Test

After the COE is issued, apply for a visa at a Japanese consulate abroad and complete an online level check test

Arrival in Japan, Enrollment, Start of Classes

Enter Japan, attend orientation, and begin classes
