Are classes conducted entirely in Japanese?

ISI Japanese Language School uses the "direct teaching method." This method's key feature is that it helps students develop the habit of thinking in Japanese, allowing them to learn to speak faster. Teachers conduct classes entirely in Japanese. Classes make extensive use of picture cards, photos, and similar materials, so even first-time Japanese learners can follow along.

Can I enroll starting at the beginner level?

Enrolling in a long-term course (for those on a student visa) requires a certain amount of prior Japanese study or proficiency. For this reason, we recommend that those with no prior Japanese study begin learning Japanese first.

The Short-Term Course is also available for those who are new to Japanese language learning, so enrolling in it is one of the options. We will provide guidance on learning methods and courses tailored to your Japanese level and learning objectives, so please feel free to consult with us.
